The year is 2022. The
city is overcrowded with 40 million martial
artists. There is a shortage of all basic resources, such
as rank certificates and colored belts. Only a few corrupt
club chairmen and rich sponsors can afford stamped membership
documents and cotton belts while living in permanent
overgraduation.
The Karate-Doctor X
examines the promotion of the affluent influential dilettant Z
and finds out that he did not receive his rank gift from
an anti-examiner. He learns that Z is working
for Soylent, a contractor which controls the belt
supply of the country. The company sells the artificially
manufactured Soylent Greenbelt, Yellowbelt, and Orangebelt in
large quantities to beginners' courses, which are dead keen on
graduations.
Since very recently each
weekend is "Soylent Greenbelt" day. The bright and
non-iron Soylent Greenbelt (allegedly made of
gene-manipulated bricks) has a ready sale but is rationed
so that not everybody can be served. For that reason,
specially trained budo association executives have to
intervene regularly in order to let candidates fail rank
tests.
In the meantime, more and
more people are promoted under mysterious conditions and
disappear shortly after. X comes to know that his
informant Y surprisingly wants to put an end to his martial
arts' career in a so called overgraduation center because he
found out the truth about rank examinations.
X breaks into the soup
kitchen of the multi-purpose hall and sees the unthinkable.
The black belt holders from the abundantly utilized
overgraduation centers are being processed into Soylent
Greenbelt.
After a wild chase, X gets
badly injured by a graduation attempt and screams: "Soylent
Greenbelt are Antisenseis
!"
